The research group measures timing and duration of past aqueous flows on Mars by integrating field sedimentology with crater and stratigraphic constraints. The research group combines sedimentological, topographic, and climatic datasets with physical experiments to bridge particle- to landscape-scale processes. The research group conducts physical experiments and modeling to test mechanisms controlling channel morphology and sediment transport rates in steep streams. The research group investigates how and where debris flows initiate to constrain hazard processes and paleoenvironmental interpretation.
