How do functional and evolutionary processes together explain phenotypic and species diversity in natural populations? The Dopman lab applies a unified framework drawing on ecology, genomics, physiology and molecular genetics to study adaptive evolution. The Dopman lab investigates "speciation genes" and reproductive isolating barriers to understand origins of species. The Dopman lab examines reproductive protein evolution, sex bias and sex chromosome evolution to explain sex-related genetic patterns. The Dopman lab studies dormancy, seasonality and organismal resilience to climate change using evolutionary and genetic approaches.
