The group uses proteomic, genomic, and other systems-biology approaches to investigate how therapeutic proteins and antibodies can be produced more effectively. It also develops stem-cell-based models of the blood-brain barrier to study molecule delivery and disease-related questions. These projects bring chemical engineering together with cellular measurements and biomedical models. His research offers a connection between the molecular details of biological processes and the design of manufacturing or therapeutic-delivery strategies.
