The research group studies cycling of trace metals, B-vitamins and mineral nutrients to determine their sources, transport, fate and bioavailability. Researchers investigate how bioactive compounds influence carbon and nitrogen fixation and phytoplankton species composition through field sampling and chemical analyses. The group examines anthropogenic impacts on environmental quality and applies results to environmental policy analysis. Methods include trace-metal and vitamin measurements across aquatic systems to link chemical availability with biological responses.
