Why can diabetes affect cardiovascular health and physical function differently in women and men? Judith Regensteiner investigates the cardiovascular consequences of diabetes, with a particular focus on women with type 2 diabetes, and also studies peripheral arterial disease. Her AcTIVE Lab brings together physicians, scientists, and exercise physiologists to examine physical activity and function. Research connects sex differences with cardiovascular risk and quality of life, offering a focused setting for interests in exercise physiology, diabetes, and inclusive clinical research.
